Application for extension of the period of stay

If you would not change the current status of residence and want to extend the period of stay you should apply this application.
You should apply this application before the time when the period of stay come to an end.
The fee for this application against the immigration office is 6000yen(revenue stamp) ➡(from the 1st of April 2025) 5500yen(on line)
Undermentioned documents are required.
1 Application for extension of period of stay.
2 The documents for the reason of application.
3 Passport or certificate of the status of residence . (only showing to confirm)
4 residence card.(only showing) etc. There are more.
在留外国人が定められた「在留期間」を超えて現在の「在留資格」に属する活動を維持しようとする場合や現在の身分又は地位をそのまま維持していこうとする場合には「在留期間の更新」の手続きをしなければなりません。しないと不法残留として「退去強制」の対象となり罰金や刑罰が下されます。
